I earned an AA Degree from Broome Community College in 1986 where I graduated with Honors, earned the President’s Special Recognition Award for my combined academic excellence and uncommonly large volume of extra-curricular activities, and was elected “Mr.BCC”. I transferred to SUNY Albany where I graduated magna cum laude with a BA in psychology and a minor in philosophy. I earned a law degree from Buffalo Law School in 1991 where I was a member of the Moot Court team. I passed the New York State Bar Exam on my first try and was sworn in to the New York State Bar in February, 1992.

Based upon these credentials, I was hired by the Law Offices of Remy Perot and tried my first case the day after I was sworn in. In my first 8 years of practice, I represented individuals on appeal in both civil and criminal cases in County Court, the Appellate Division and the Court of Appeals; I tried both civil and criminal cases in federal court; I represented individuals in New York State Supreme Court and the Court of Claims; and had numerous trials on petty offenses, misdemeanors  and felonies. During this time, I found myself able to utilize my psychology background in novel ways on many occasions.

Since going out on my own, I have tried both misdemeanor and felony DWIs, misdemeanor and felony assaults, various forms of fraud, drug offenses, sex offenses, robbery, burglary and arson along with three homicides that went to verdict. Along the way, I have represented clients at dozens of pretrial hearings and countless conferences.


In short, I have over 3 decades of experience, yet maintain my passion for the courtroom and for the vindication of the Constitutional rights of the individual.

I have had the good fortune to hire Shawn Edwards as my assistant. She has been a Certified Paralegal since 1997 and has extensive experience in Criminal Defense, which is her passion.
